***This is the public verion of the FS Guild Charter. If you are looking for the signable version, you will find it in the Guild Chat Forums. Thank You***

FORGOTTEN SOULS CHARTER

Everyone who joins the guild must 1) Agree to these rules and 2) Abide and continue to follow them while in the guild.

Enjoy!

Attitude: Maintaining a positive attitude is important to a successful guild. Negativity will not be tolerated. Even after wiping several times, you must maintain a positive attitude. Guild drama will not be tolerated. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with another member, bring it up to an officer and he/she will deal with it. Also, remember to be proud of your guild tag. When interacting with members outside the guild, maintain that pride and embody the characteristics that we stand for.

Chain of Command: 1 GM, 2 Officers, 4 'Class' Leads (Tanks, Healing, Melee DPS, and Ranged DPS). Anyone listed here has absolute authority. The role of officers and GM is mainly to track raids and award loot, as well as general administrative duties. The role of class leads is to work together to ensure optimally balanced raids for any encounter. This means people will be removed and added to the raid at the 'class' leads discretion, due not only to raid balance, but also performance issues. You must respect their decisions. Complaints about the decisions of any of the leaders regarding raid placement and similar raid issues will not be tolerated.

Raid Times: Tuesday - Thursday. 6:30pm - 11pm PST(Roughly)

Attendance:
> 75% attendance on the month = Acceptable
< 75% attendance on the month = Probation
< 50% attendance on the month = Guild Removal

In addition to, yet seperate from those basic percentages, we aim for consistancy: If there legitmately exists an obligation of yours from time to time, that is understandable. What kills raiding, though, is the 'no-post/no-show' member. For example, 'Member 1' posts in the Attendance forums, which exists to provide members ample time to state their absence for upcoming raids. Leadership notes this, and makes the appropriate planning. 'Member 2' DOESN'T post in the attendance forums. On raid night, 'Member 1' and 'Member 2' do not show up. This creates issues that could have been planned for, and 'Member 2' will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis by their class lead, whether it be probation or guild removal.

On the rarest of occasions, a Saturday or Sunday raid MAY be announced Thursday night, in order to take care of pressing learning encounters or something similar. This announced raid(s) will be clearly posted either in the GMotD or Guild Forums by Element, and will accordingly be treated as an official raid, to include attendance tracking and dkp distribution (if neccesary).

Loot Awards: Loot will be awarded solely by DKP. There will be no class preference. There will be no preference of any kind. DKP will be used on a per tier basis: (ie: Gruul, Mag/SSC/TK, MH/BT). Officers will take tells for loot and the tells received will then be announced in raid chat. At that point, people may rescind their tells if they feel so inclined. The DKP chart will then be consulted, and the top candidate will receive their loot and be charged DKP to be distributed to everyone else.

DKP: We use a zero-sum DKP system to distribute items. This means that the healthy majority of your dkp points will come from other players who spend their points on an item, which is then in turn distributed back to you if you are in the raid. Since we do not use a '1 for 1' point value, this allows room for us to utilize on-time bonuses, and other small bonuses from time to time without having inflation.

Required Mods: The following three (3) mods are required for you to have for raids.

1) Either Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs (DBM recommended)
2) Unit Frames (CT or Grid or oRA or xperl, etc)
3) Omen

Ventrilo: Voice communication is very important. Log into Vent as soon as you log into the game. You will not be allowed to raid and you will not receive attendance credit if you are not in Ventrilo. Microphones are not mandatory, but listening is. During raid time, only the raid leaders and members designated by the raid leaders should be talking, as situation dictates.

Spec: Players will be the spec that is best fit for the raid. This means that tanks are spec'd for tanking, ranged and melee classes are optimized for their maximum PVE DPS, and healers for their maximum PvE utility. There will be exceptions if a different spec is needed, as chain of command may dictate from time to time. Players will pay for their own respecs.

Elixirs/Flasks/Food: Maximizing raid effectiveness is required. Therefore the use of consumables is required. Everyone is responsible for their own mats. There are several herbalists, alchemists, and cooks in the guild, and if you'd prefer to farm your own mats instead of purchase, try and work out an arrangement with one of those players. Consumables are not required on initial learning encounters, nor are they required after an encounter is on farm status (read: smoothly completing the encounter 5 times or more). If we start wiping on farmable content, the consumables will become required and enforced.

Enchants/Gems: As with consumables, enchants and gems increase overall player effectiveness, and in turn, raid endurance/potency; therefore, they are required. There are several enchanters in guild that would be happy to enchant gear or help out by DE'ing items into mats. There is also a MASTER jewelcrafter in the guild to cut your gems or prospect your ore to find the most appropriate gems. However, once again, everyone is responsible for their own mats, and this will be enforced by 'Class' Leads. There will be no excuse for not having proper enchants and/or lack of gems/poor gems on your gear.

Resists: Some encounters require resist levels to be at a certain amount. Resist gear is to be sought after in a timely fashion. For encounters where resist gear is lacking, you will not be invited to the raid, nor will you earn attendance for that encounter. There will be announcements for when resist gear is required, which will provide you with ample time to make the proper preperations.

Mains/Alts policy: You will bring your main on every raid, unless it has been deemed beneficial by a raid leader to bring an exceptionally geared alt to optimize the raid composition. If by chance, your alt does make it into a raid under this condition, ALL mains have loot priortiy over you. Going further, if no mains happen to want a particular loot, and you would like it for your alt, it will all be tracked/charged under your main. The same is true for attendance: It will all be tracked/credited/deducted under one name.

Competition and Performance: Individual performance is more important now than it has been before in WOW. This is most notably a change for DPS classes in this era of enrage timers. Raiders are expected to accomplish all the cc, kiting, buffing, and encounter specific functions such as clicking cubes without error. However, what distinguishes you is the damage/healing/threat per second you achieve while still accomplishing your other duties. At the end of the day, small differences in gear may account for a few dozen dps here or there, but as successful raiders we will all have access to similar equipment. On any given fight you should be vying against your fellow raiders for top performance. There should be no consistent #1 mage or hunter, rather everyone should be capable of #1 depending on crits, group make up and other random factors. If there is a something a player can do to improve their performance, they are expected to do it, whether it be spec/gear/addons/knowledge or other intangible factors.

Criticism: Do not be an insecure and delicate flower. Criticism is a needed tool to improve and needs to be embraced. Snide and insulting comments in tells, class channels, etc will not be tolerated and is detrimental to the guild. We all make mistakes. If you make an error, figure out why and fix it. If you consistently screw up, understand that it's in everyone’s best interest for you to be replaced. Every member of the raid should be an asset.

Trialing: If you are brought on as a 'trial' member, you will wear our tag for 2 weeks (14 days), starting the day you sign on. You will be monitored for performance, attitude, and all the stipulations stated in this charter. While raiding with us during your trial period, you will be able to earn dkp, but you will not be able to spend it until you are made a full member, if you do in fact pass trial.

Adherence: These rules are absolute. They are to be followed 100% of the time. If there are any issues with any of the rules, bring it up to an officer and he/she can explain to you why it exists or upon careful consideration can bring it before the raid leaders to discuss change. Any change to the rules will be publicly announced.

Have fun out there
