Ok, so don't get me wrong, I am very happy with the gear I have managed to acquire, and certainly most grateful of the guildies I have been blessed to have help me do so. Sure, I may complain about an item or two from time to time, but who doesn't have one or two drops that just won't drop at the right time?

At the same time, I've been thinking about how little gear I've acquired for how much time I've put into raiding compared to some other people, as well as how often I've passed on minor and major upgrades because umpteen other people wanted it as well. Tonight something snapped inside of me, and I stayed up until 4am making this triple header lol. It was worth it too.

Caster/Healer Loot Supply/Demand Imbalances

What do you supersexypartytimepeople think about this mini rant? Do you think it is fair or somehow beyond redemption that hybrids have such an easy time gearing their main and off specs while clothies/casters/healers have to fight for top end items which can almost always be effectively used for any spec they choose?

You are correct in your post, Kan. Casters do have a raw deal in this regard. But as the second poster on your thread points out, the main problem is the spell power/healing power combination. Blizz has made it abundantly clear that they want more loot dispersed among more classes and I don't think this will change anytime soon ;-(.

I really did think that combining +damage and +healing was a good thing, even though I saw the potential for this outcome. I still do think it is a good thing overall. since it gives hybrids what they should have, flexibility and cross over in playstyle from a pure class/spec.

There are always going to be BiS items that are the best min/max items. What I would like to see is more items available that rival those items. Crit/spirit items, and don't even get me started on hit/spirit items (I cry a bit inside at how more of these drop than haste/crit items) are not comparable for most classes/specs, so I guess more than anything I would simply like to see more drops that could be considered BiS, or are at least close to BiS, instead of how it is now with one item per slot being so much better than the rest that healers and casters feel obligated to hoard dkp or run instances on the same toon over and over again because there are so many of us after the same handful of items.
