FORGOTTEN SOULS CHARTEREveryone who joins the guild must 1) Agree to these rules and 2) Abide and continue to follow them while in the guild.
Enjoy!
Attitude: Maintaining a positive attitude is important to a successful guild. Negativity will not be tolerated. Even after wiping several times, you must maintain a positive attitude. Guild drama will not be tolerated. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with another member, bring it up to an officer and he/she will deal with it. Also, remember to be proud of your guild tag. When interacting with members outside the guild, maintain that pride and embody the characteristics that we stand for.
Chain of Command: 1 GM, 3 Officers (Tanks, Healing, and DPS). Anyone listed here has absolute authority. The role of officers and GM is mainly to organize raids and award loot, as well as general administrative duties. Organizing raids includes working together to ensure optimally balanced raids for any encounter. This means people will be removed and added to the raid at the officer’s discretion, due not only to raid balance, but also performance issues. You
must respect their decisions. Complaints about the decisions of any of the leaders regarding raid placement and similar raid issues will not be tolerated.
Raid Times: Tuesday - Thursday. 6:30pm - 10pm PST(Roughly)Attendance:> 75% attendance on the month = Acceptable
< 75% attendance on the month = Probation
< 50% attendance on the month = Raid Team Removal
In addition to, yet separate from those basic percentages, we aim for consistency: If there legitimately exists an obligation of yours from time to time, that is understandable. What kills raiding, though, is the 'no-post/no-show' member. For example, 'Member 1' posts in the Attendance forums, which exists to provide members ample time to state their absence for upcoming raids. Leadership notes this, and makes the appropriate planning. 'Member 2' DOESN'T post in the attendance forums. On raid night, 'Member 1' and 'Member 2' do not show up. This creates issues that could have been planned for, and 'Member 2' will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis by their class lead, whether it be probation or guild removal.
Probation: Members may be placed on probation for attendance, performance or attitude issues. The probation system follows a clear path of escalation.
1. A player or officer reports an incident to an officer. The officer receiving the report will create an incident report in the officer forum where the officer team will discuss the next course of action.
2. Once 2 officers concur that action should be taken one of them will speak privately and directly to those needed and explain the issue. In addition the player(s) involved will be clearly warned that repeated attendance, performance or attitude issues will lead to them being placed on probation.
3. Should further infractions occur they should be documented on the incident report thread. Once 2 officers concur the player will be spoken to again by a different officer than the original and formally placed on probation. When being placed on probation the player’s name will be added to a probation list in the raid member only forum along with a single word descriptor (attendance, performance or attitude). The purpose of this is to serve as a final warning to the player and to support transparency in guild operation.
4. Should the behavior continue the incident report should be updated and when 2 officers agree that further action must be taken then player is demoted and removed from raid team. If the behavior is corrected then the incident report should be updated and when 2 officers concur then the player is removed from probation.
Loot Awards: Loot will be awarded solely by DKP. There will be no class preference. There will be no preference of any kind. DKP will be used on a per tier basis: (ie: Tier 10, Heroic Tier 10, Tier 11, etc.). Officers or DKP Volunteers will take tells for loot and the tells received will then be announced in raid chat. At that point, people may rescind their tells if they feel so inclined. The DKP chart will then be consulted, and the top candidate will receive their loot and be charged DKP to be distributed to everyone else.
Legendary Items: Legendary items do not follow our standard DKP rules though they do cost DKP. They are items of special stature and as such require additional prerequisites in order to receive one. The officers will use the following step by step criteria to award the legendary.
1. Must be for the player’s primary spec.
2. Must not be on probation or have been on probation in the current or last tier.
3. Must have 75% attendance for current and last tier.
4. Must be considered a top tier performer by their class lead.
5. Must not have already received a legendary.
6. Any remaining candidates are voted on by class leads through a thread in the officer forum. Attitude as well as general helpfulness are factors the officers will consider at this step. If a class lead is eligible then the GM votes in their place. If there is a deadlocked 3-way tie then GM decides among the 3.
DKP: We use a zero-sum DKP system to distribute items. This means that the healthy majority of your DKP points will come from other players who spend their points on an item, which is then in turn distributed back to you if you are in the raid. Since we do not use a '1 for 1' point value, this allows room for us to utilize on-time bonuses, and other small bonuses from time to time without having inflation.
Ventrilo: Voice communication is very important. Log into Vent as soon as you log into the game. You will
not be allowed to raid and you will not receive attendance credit if you are not in Ventrilo. Microphones are not mandatory, but listening is. During raid time, only the raid leaders and members designated by the raid leaders should be talking, as situation dictates.
Spec: Players will be the spec that is best fit for the raid. This means that tanks are spec'd for tanking, ranged and melee classes are optimized for their maximum PVE DPS, and healers for their maximum PvE utility. There will be exceptions if a different spec is needed, as chain of command may dictate from time to time
Elixirs/Flasks/Food: Maximizing raid effectiveness is required. Therefore the use of consumables is required. The guild will usually provide flasks and feasts for the raid, but you must have your own backups available as well as potions.
Gear Requirements: As with consumables, enchants and gems and properly reforged gear increase overall player effectiveness, and in turn, raid endurance/potency; therefore, they are required. In addition if a specific piece of farmable gear is needed for progression (e.g. Tol Barad trinket or other resist gear) it is also required. Players are responsible for their own gear and enchants.
Mains/Alts policy: You will bring your main on every raid, unless it has been deemed beneficial by a raid leader to bring an exceptionally geared alt to optimize the raid composition. If by chance, your alt does make it into a raid under this condition, ALL mains have loot priority over you. Going further, if no mains happen to want a particular loot, and you would like it for your alt, it will all be tracked/charged under your main. The same is true for attendance: It will all be tracked/credited/deducted under one name.
Criticism: Do not be an insecure and delicate flower. Criticism is a needed tool to improve and needs to be embraced. Snide and insulting comments in tells, class channels, etc will not be tolerated and is detrimental to the guild. We all make mistakes. If you make an error, figure out why and fix it. If you consistently screw up, understand that it's in everyone’s best interest for you to be replaced. Every member of the raid should be an asset.
Trialing: If you are brought on as a 'trial' member, you will wear our tag for up to 3 weeks (21 days), starting the day you sign on. You will be monitored for performance, attitude, and all the stipulations stated in this charter. While raiding with us during your trial period, you will be able to earn dkp, but current members have priority on loot drops i.e. member main spec>trial main spec>member off spec> trial off spec.
Adherence: These rules are absolute. They are to be followed 100% of the time by everyone from trials to officers to the guild master. If you feel there are any issues with the rules, or the implementation of the rules bring it up to an officer and he/she will try to address your concerns. Any change to the rules will be publicly announced.
Have fun out there
